Q&A with Clementine of Clemfoodie

Clementine of Clemfoodie

I always know a clemfoodie photo in my feed when I see it - because I stop and stare in awe for a minute. Clémentine is the French kween I've always wanted to be. Her photos are stunning and she's talented beyond belief.

Tell us a little bit about yourself

My name is Clémentine, I’m a 29-year-old foodie living in France! I love chocolate, cheese and bread (I’m a real frenchie!), and I’m passionate about nutrition, health, working out, rugby and crime drama TV series! I’m an introvert and would rather spend my evening at home with my fam or a few friends watching TV shows and eating good food than going out!

What was the inspiration behind Clemfoodie?

My mom is a great cook and has always been passionate about nutrition and health too. I’ve always enjoyed cooking but I gained interest in nutrition and health when I was around 20. I started to experiment more in the kitchen, and wanted to show that you can be/eat healthy while still enjoying your favorite foods! That’s when I started my IG account (and then my blog). It was a way to share my daily meals and I thought it was a funny way to connect with people from around the world (even if there were only 15 of them at the beginning and most of them were family members…!!)

What are your top tips for someone looking to build their personal brand?

Imagine your dream personal brand. How would it look like? what would it be like? what would be the core message? Once you have that vision, work for it. Learn along the way. Pour your heart and soul into what you’re doing. You’ll have moments of doubts, moments when you’ll think that you’re not good enough, not talented enough, etc. Work on these weaknesses (internet is your friend!) and stay true to yourself!

What do you love most about your job?

Connecting with people and brands from all over the world! It’s so rewarding and humbling. And being my own boss is also amazing (and stressful! But mostly amazing)

What do you love most about yourself?

My sense of humor! I’m funny I swear! But only in French…!

Take us through a day in the life of Clementine. We want all the deets!

I wake up around 8 A.M, wash my face and teeth and go directly to the kitchen! After having a big glass of water, I’ll start cooking breakfast. Whether I’m photographing it or not breakfast will take from 5 to 25 minutes to make. After breakfast, I’ll make myself a matcha latte and go through my e-mails for about 1 hour. Then I’ll workout (in my living room, I’m not a big fan of the gym). Then shower and it’s already lunch time! I try to plan my meals 2 to 3 days ahead (even if I don’t meal prep) to ensure I have everything I need in the fridge and that I’m not wasting food either. I’ll cook, take pics (post it on IG obviously), and finally eat! I usually spend my afternoons answering e-mails, thinking about and working on new recipes and collabs, going to meetings and doing some administrative work. Around 7.30 PM I’ll start to cook dinner for the fam. It’s the most relaxing moment for me because I know I won’t take pics or eat cold food haha. I usually make something simple : a big salad, soup, frittata or pasta. I’ll then watch a few episodes of whatever TV show I’m currently watching (currently loving The Crown). I usually go to bed at 11 P.M-11.30 P.M, read a little and finally falling asleep thinking about breakfast!

What's on the horizon for you in 2018?

I want to travel more in 2018 (I already have a couple of trips planned). Travelling, meeting new people, discovering new cultures (and food) is what inspire me the most in my work! I also have some cool projects I’m working on but I can’t tell you more about them for now! Stay tuned!

And lastly, what makes you feel like a kween?

All the support I’m receiving every day makes me feel loved and blessed. It may sounds cheesy but it’s true! All the comments, nice words, brands that support me really make me feel special! Knowing that I can inspire people to start cooking, to eat a bit healthier (and still enjoying food) is amazing and so fulfilling.
